1. Oil - Don’t be afraid of oil! After washing your hair, use a small amount of dry oil on wet hair to make it more manageable. Also be sure to add a little more after it’s dry, leaving your hair silky and smooth. Dry oil will protect your hair from heat like blow dryers and flat irons. Using a higher quality blow dryer will decrease your chances of having hair that is brittle and frayed, resulting in stronger hair. Ionic drying diffuse negative ions, which cause the hair cuticle to trap moisture and eliminate frizz. 9. Color -  Hair color can fade quickly. To keep color staying true after you come home from the salon, add two teaspoons of vinegar to your shampoo the first time you wash it. Vinegar is a natural way to lock in color and works especially well for red heads.

10. Swimmers - Since Summer is around the corner, add a leave in conditioner to your hair before diving into the water. Chlorine can reduce the amount of natural lubricants in your hair, causing the hair cuticle to break or crack. Salt water can also remove these lubricants and cause your hair to become dry and brittle. You may be at even greater risk for this type of hair damage if you already color your hair or use high-heat styling tools. Don’t forget to wash hair immediately after swimming.
