The Treat:
A variation on what’s known on the streets as a Everything but the Kitchen Sink. This Reciepe is good for two reasons: 1. They allow you to stuff several varieties of candy bars in your mouth at once, with no risk of getting some really weird looks. 2. It’s the fastest way to empty out the plastic pumpkin goodie stash we’ve ever seen.*
Ingredients:
- 3 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 stick unsalted butter (8 tablespoons) at room temperature
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 to 3 cups candy, chopped (recommended: chocolate bars or chocolate covered anything, caramel anything, raisins)
Preheat oven to 375° F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk flour with baking soda and salt and set aside. In another medium bowl, cream butter and sugars together with a whisk or wooden spoon until light and fluffy (this takes about 3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, thoroughly incorporating each, and then add vanilla and milk and beat until combined. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mix until incorporated, then fold in chopped candy.
Drop by rounded tablespoons (a mini ice cream scooper is my favorite way to portion them) onto cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie (room to grow). Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack. -Goop

Wives, Have I got a brunching, lunching and everything else in between spot for you! After hearing rave reviews from a few friends, I made the drive to Santa Monica for Brunch with my friend Jill. And Oh My Goodness was it worth it!! Just Hidden next door to Santa Monica Seafood is this wonderful little gem. Don’t be Threatened by the Long line to order, they manage to turn out your food and a table to sit at quite quickly. I ordered the green eggs and ham ( photographed below ) which don’t let the name fool you, its Thinly Sliced La Queria Prosciutto, Poached Eggs, Basil Pesto all on top of the most delicious and thick homemade English muffin. I about feel to the floor after taking my first bite! Not only was my breakfast delectable, but I also couldn’t help but order some sweet pasty treats to take home for later. A Morning bun and Raspberry Strudel Muffin. Which were probably the best breakfast treats I’ve had in Los Angeles since I lived here. This is Definitely a new favorite spot of mine, But the only downside being its all the way on the West Side. So for those of you Wives living in Santa Monica or Brentwood… I’m extremely jealous!

You can also take home fresh baked bread for the week, Perfect to fresh morning toast and making yummy sandwiches to send your kids off to school with!

Oh my Goodness… Just order one of everything, instead of trying to make a decision. Its impossible.. Everything is just SOOOO GOOD!
