Brining Bags
The best way to get flavorful poultry, regardless of how it is prepared, is to start with a brine. Brining adds moisture and flavor to poultry and helps to keep it from drying out. Our heavy-duty, leak-proof bags make an easy task of brining pork and poultry. The small size can hold a pork loin or 5-lb. chicken; the larger, a 23-lb. turkey. Each plastic bag has a double zipper-seal top for secure closure. Set of 4 for $16.00

Flavor Injector
Here’s a fast way to impart rich flavor and tender juiciness to meats and poultry. Through an easy-to-handle syringe, this stainless-steel tool inserts marinades and other liquid flavorings deep into foods before cooking. It’s ideal for roasting, barbecuing and deep-frying – and great for turkeys and other roasts. $19.00

Potato Scubbing Gloves

Use these gloves to scrub potatoes and other vegetables clean while preserving the nutrient-rich skin. $12.00

Gravy Separator

When you’re making gravies, sauces and soups, this cup quickly separates meat and poultry juices from fat while the removable strainer eliminates the need for a separate sieve. Just fill the cup with drippings – fat rises to the top, and the low spout pours off the juices. $24.00

Deluxe Angeld Potato Ricer

When it comes to making the perfect mashed potatoes, nothing beats the efficiency of our potato ricer. Unlike a traditional masher, this tool extrudes boiled potatoes in fluffy rice-like grains, incorporating air in the process. Just place potatoes in the extra-large hopper and press the removable handle. The hopper is perforated on all sides for maximum yield, and rubber-coated ridges allow the ricer to rest on pots without scratching them. $32.00

First Interview with THE WIFE

Last Week Gigi, the Author or GD Fierce, Interviewed me for her Blog. This is the first interview I’ve done for my website THE WIFE. Not only was Gigi as sweet as a peach, but she did an wonderful job making me feel right at home. I felt as if I was talking to a dear old friend then doing an interview. So I want to thank Gigi for a job well done and sharing my story with her Friends and Fans! To Read the Complete Artical please visit her Fierce Website www.GDFierce.Blogspot.Com – THE WIFE

A Portion of My Interview

Location: Le Pain Quotidian (Organic Restaurant) Los Angeles, CA

Date: November 5th

The Entrance:

It was a gorgeous night in LA of a temperature of 70 degrees and a moonlit sky bold enough to see at a distance. Taryn Cox arrives at 5pm, looking utterly amazing with her caramel colored Vintage dress, dark Michael Stars cashmere sweater, H&M skinny black leather belt, Cole Hahn ballet flats and to tie it all together, she wore her signature red lip and delightful smile.

Shortly after she had arrived…to my surprise she greeted me with a gift, that happened to be a book called The Daring Book For Girls by: Andrea J.Buchanan. It was wrapped in beautiful white linen wrapping paper w/gold leaf Fleur DI Li’s print attached with a Thank You card. The gift and card clarified her class and undeniable life of “The Wife”.

As we talked and ordered up some Prosciutto, Lemonade and Latte, we gabbed about both of us growing up in a single mother home. Our mom’s both were seamstresses, in their own right. However, Taryn’s mom has kept the tradition going and still makes and alters most of Taryn’s dresses and skirts. Taryn always had the knack for organization and “wifey duties”, even when she was young and growing up in Orange County, California. It was quite intriguing to learn of her passion for marriage, love and “wifey duties” at such a young age and from a single parent home. It made me think to myself, that she is not the “poster child” for single mother homes. She rose above that and took lemons and made FRESHLY squeezed Lemonade…”Martha Stewart Style”, of course!

In her teen/young adult years Taryn started to model and found that she wasn’t cut out for the “Supermodel” life and started a self exploration of what she was “cut out for”. So, she found that she was naturally good at multi tasking, organization, task assembly, etc. Hmmm…wonder what those qualities could manifest into?! (Light bulb!) Celebrity Domestic Assistant, of course! So, through many of her friends contact’s, she found herself working for Jared Leto, which then became a snow ball affect of assistant jobs with more great names like Lindsay Lohan and Scarlett Johanson.

When I asked of how “THE WIFE” got started she simply replied, “Well I have wanted to start a fashion magazine and my friends told me that I should get a blog started first, just to get my “feet wet”…. and ever since I have been enjoying the blogging process”

Interviewing Miss Taryn was a pleasure because she encompassed a very down-to-earth, fun, worldly, fashionable and delightful woman. By the conclusion of THE INTERVIEW, Taryn had to run to her Thursday Ballet Class. Pleasantly, I was totally smitten with her love for life, her blog site and being a great “Role Model” for “Wives in Training”. Taryn still has dreams of starting a Fashion Magazine and I don’t think anything will stand in her way.

Thanks for THE INTERVIEW Doll

With Love,

Gigi

Restaurant Reccomendation: Bottega Louie

Entrance to Bottega Louie

When Chelsea, My Best Friend, was turning 25, I already had it in my head I wanted to take her to new restaurant, Bottega Louie. Normally anything in Downtown LA would stop me dead in my tracks from trekking all the way down there. But in honor of the Birthday girl… I figured lets be outright adventurous!

Upon arrival we walked into the Restaurant only to discover they had the most adorable market place, shelves stocked with every kind of gourmet everything: jams, chutneys, sauces, oils, nuts, pastas, even freshly bundled flowers. On the counter tops food waiting to be boxed up for take out in fitting little pastel boxes (Resembling Laduree) Also every kind of pastry and sugary confection imaginable…. mini tarts, cakes, Macaroons, cookies, the list goes on. While waiting for our table we just stood trying to decide what to splurge on. I eventually chose lavender honey, apricot and fig chutney and Dark Chocolate Non Perils… My Favorite Chocolate Treat. Chelsea went home with an Assortment of Teas and Hot Chocolate.

After our Shopping spree in the lobby, we wandered over to the Bar Area for pre -dinner cocktails. The very sweet and accommodating bar tender mixed up a virgin moijito for me (since I’m allergic to alcohol) and a Fun birthday cocktail for Chelsea which coincidentally matched her gorgeous Coral Phillip Lim dress. Now that is noticing the details!

Finally it was time to be seated (they don’t take reservations) We were greeted by two of the most friendly and welcoming hostesses, which is rare to find females who are generally thrilled your dinning in their restaurant. Hahah! We sat down and took in the beautiful high ceilings and glowing ambiance. We also started to take notice to the fact that every waiter in the restaurant looked like a delicious male model straight off the runway. And most all of them had a flirty and sweet personality to back up their gentlemanly looks! Bonus! After dinning on Lasagna and Raviolis and Macaroons with a side of eye candy, I was shocked at how Reasonably cheap the Bill was! All and All a perfect evening out on the town! And to put the extra cherry on our evening, on the way out busboy said to us … “Thank you for decorating the restaurant with your beauty!”
I’ll definitely be back! – THE WIFE
