Signet rings can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt and Rome, but became prevalent in England during the reign of Edward II. The signet ring was dipped in hot wax to seal, authenticate or stamp letters with a legal mark behind business, law and government until 1851…. Hence the term “Sign, Sealed, Delivered.” It was in the 17th and 18th centuries they became increasingly popular as the ultimate mark of distinction and representation for noble families, while displaying the traditional crest or coat of arms.

Any true Fashionista owns or is familiar with Hoorsenbuhs famed tri link chain jewelry. Hoorsenbuhs, Pronounced (HORS-en-boose) was established in 2005 and named after a 16th century Dutch ship that traded precious metal and gems. Hoorsenbuhs has since grown organically into one of the most sought after luxury jewelry brands.

I recently sat down with Robert Keith, the creator and designer of Hoorsenbuhs, at his Santa Monica Atelier. We spoke about Hoosenbuhs newest venture into bridal and how the husband and father of two keeps the spark alive with dinner dates at Sushi Roku with his wife and why cooking is an essential asset in any marriage.
