Super Soul Sunday with Gary Zukav

Are you ready to tap into your true authentic power? That’s what “The Seat of the Soul” author Gary Zukav and Oprah are discussing under the oaks this Sunday on “Super Soul Sunday.” Before then, read this blog entry from Gary and get ready to tap into your true potential.

Authentic power is the real deal. You can’t inherit it, buy it or win it. You also can’t lose it. You don’t need to build your body, reputation, wealth or charisma to get it. None of that can help you when it comes to creating authentic power. Anyone can become authentically powerful. Even a rockstar or the president of the United States can become authentically powerful, although just being a rockstar or president is no guarantee of authentic power.

Must Watch Show: “Good Christian Belles”

Based on the book “Good Christian Bitches” by Kim Gatlin, Good Christian Belles (GCB) is about Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb) who returns to the south after being a “mean girl” in High School. Amanda has changed her ways, but her old classmates don’t see the new her, just the old Amanda who they grew to hate. However, since it is the South, Carlene Cockburn (Kristin Chenoweth, Gigi Stopper (Annie Potts), Sharon Peacham (Jennifer Aspen), Cricket Caruth-Reilly (Miriam Shor) and Heather Cruz (Marisol Nichols) want to show that they have forgotten about the past, but clearly they have not.

As Amanda and her teenage children attempt to make a new life in their new home, the old “friends” go about their lives and scheme at the same time. Created by Robert Harling (The First Wives Club, Steel Magnolias), GCB is full of great moments and takes a look at the South and the proper side of the true meaning of Southern Hospitality. Airs Sunday at 10:00pm on ABC.

The Donna Reed Show

The Donna Reed Show is an American sitcom which aired on ABC from September 24, 1958 to March 19, 1966. The series stars Donna Reed as Donna Stone, the matriarch of the Stone family. The series was developed by Reed and her then-husband, producer Tony Owen. Its premise focused on middle class couple, Donna Stone (Reed), a housewife to pediatrician Alex Stone, played by Carl Betz. The couple had two children together, Mary (Shelley Fabares) and Jeff (Paul Petersen). Episodes featured problems of the 1950s such as planning a bash for a retiring colleague, firing an inept housekeeper, and finding quality time away from the kids. Below is a favorite episode of mine titled “The Ideal Wife.”

New T.V. Show to Love: Nurse jackie

Nurse Jackie is a half-hour dark comedy that is at turns wicked, heartbreaking and funny. Edie Falco stars as the title character Jackie O’Hurley, a strong-willed and brilliant — but very flawed — emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. A lapsed Catholic with an occasional weakness for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the days, Jackie keeps the hospital balanced with her own kind of justice. Every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions.

New Obbession: Jon and Kate Plus 8

There’s hardly a quiet moment in the Gosselin household. Like parents the world over, Kate and Jon Gosselin of Pennsylvania keep busy juggling household duties and kids. However, things are a bit different for the Gosselins than most of their parental counterparts.

Jon and Kate are the parents to 4-year-old sextuplets and 7-year-old twins. That’s eight kids for those of you playing along at home.If their hands weren’t full enough, the family now stars in “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” seen on both Discovery Health and TLC.

Reason to love this show. Kate does a phenomenal job mothering 8 children all under 10. She makes a point to serve up all organic food. Jon and Kate also make sure, even though proven very difficult, that all their children get to experience very interesting and exciting places. The kids have already enjoyed ski trips, Disney World, Summer Break in North Carolina, Cooking classes, adventures on the farm, and many amusement parks and museums. Coming up on the next episode is a family vacation to Hawaii, where Jon and Kate renew their wedding vows. All 8 kids are just too adorable to watch. Any women who wants to know whats its like to have a big family, this show is perfect for you… You’ll be instantly addicted.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, it plays on Discovery Health at 10pm (E/P) on Tuesdays and the encore plays on TLC at 9pm (E/P) on Monday.
