Sweetie Pie
January 17th, 2009 — Resturants
Sweetie Pie is the new Serindipty, The Restaurant is described as a cross between a “bake-sale” and a fantasy land of Marie Antoinette sweets and pastries. Sant Ambroeus
November 29th, 2008 — Resturants

Shortly after the original Sant Ambroeus opened its doors in Milan in 1936, a devoted following emerged. This celebrated pasticceria and confetteria became the meeting place for the local intelligentsia, whether beginning their day with Sant Ambroeus’s legendary cappuccino and cornetto, savoring panini at lunch, or spending their evening enjoying refined cuisine in the restaurant’s elegant dining room.
We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to three New York neighborhoods: the West Village, the Upper East Side, and Southampton. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.
Sant Ambroeus is my favorite restaurant in New York. Every time I’m in the city, I have to eat here. You’ll feel right at home with their welcoming Maitre D’ Enzo. Thier food is perfection. Even if your not hungry, Sant Ambroeus is great place to catch up with friends over a cup of espresso or their amazing gelato!
Milk Cafe
November 6th, 2008 — Resturants
Milk Cafe, Ice Cream Parlor and Bakeshop is my favorite place for the most delectable treats in Los Angeles. Its the perfect place to take kids for an after school treat, when they’ve brought home all A’s. Or an after dinner treat, If they’ve eaten all their vegetables. Owner and Chef Brett Thompson has created an amazing Cafe with not only yummy sweets, but savory foods as well. You’ll feel right at home with these comfort foods made to warm your heart a soul for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
My Breakfast favorites include their Iced Chai Tea Latte, They make there Chai syrup from scratch. Milk’s pain o’ chocolate, tastes just like they make ‘em in France. Their Loaf cakes (Blueberry cornbread, banana-walnut, zucchini-walnut bread, pecan crumble coffee cake, candied carrot-cream cheese bread) are perfect to take home.
For Dessert make sure to gobble up all their fresh baked cookies (Chocolate Chip Cookies with or without walnuts, Ooey Gooey Double Chocolate Cookies, Snicker doodles). All of Milk’s Ice cream flavors are dreamed up by Chef Brett Thompson and Dave Baker, with Delicious and Interesting flavors like: Pumpkin Ice Cream and Thai Iced Tea. In addition to Ice cream, They also offer an assortment of Shakes, Floats and Malts. The Chocolate chip bread pudding with Vanilla Beam ice cream and Velvet Popper Cupcakes are a must.
Ladies Who Lunch: Porta Via
October 24th, 2008 — Resturants
Porta Via is one of my favorite places to go Lunching in La. Located in the heart of the Beverly Hills’ shopping district. Porta Via is a contemporary California Bistro serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Porta Via’s cooking philosophy is to start with the best seasonal organic ingredients and prepare them simply.
A regular at many of Southern California’s Farmer’s Markets, owner Peter Garland and staff hand-pick produce to ensure that only the best food is served at his restaurant. Wild caught seafood and “all natural” meats are brought in daily. The Daily Specials are always a must order,in addition to the Chicken Pillard. Although its not on the menu, ask specially for their delicous fresh berries and cream. The wine list includes nearly 150 wines from around the world, including a private consignment of mature Classed-Growth Bordeaux.
