THE WIFE Guide: Eyelash Extensions

THE WIFE Guide: EyeLash Extensions

Are you a WIFE who has less then stellar eye lashes and hates putting on eye make up morning, noon and night? Perhaps it’s time to consider lash extensions. After we tried them out for ourselves, we realized this is definitely an “easy button” every WIFE needs to know about.

Imagine waking up to perfect long and voluminous lashes… never having to curl your eyelashes or put on mascara for a month. The durable, wearable and oh-so-glam lash extensions are ideal for THE WIFE with Kids who doesn’t have a lot of time on her hands or THE WIFE To Be, who wants dream lashes throughout her wedding weekend. The downside…. a definite change up to your beauty routine, but over here at THE WIFE™ we think it’s definitely worth it.

We spoke to Joyce Poon, the owner of Noir Lash Lounge, a premier lash destination solely specializing in semi-permanent eyelash extensions, to find out what THE WIFE™ should know before taking the plunge into eyelash extensions.

Noir Lash Lounge offers over 100 different lash varieties… So first things first, you’ll have to choose what shape and style of lash extensions you want. Then individual lashes are professionally applied with a special adhesive to create longer, thicker, more beautiful lashes. No messy clumps or tangled flares, their lashes are individually applied and laid atop of your own natural lash. The adhesive is non-irritating and bonds for 2 to 8 weeks and is latex and formaldehyde free. Providing THE WIFE™ with instant glamour in just an hour. Visit Noirlashlounge.com to make an appointment. -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE™

Before Your Appointment:

  • Arrive without eye makeup, especially mascara and avoid curling your lashes the day of your appointment.

The First Day:

  • Avoid showering, steam rooms, massages and facials after lash application.
  • Do not wet the lashes and absolutely no crying!

After The First Day:

  • Use a pointed cotton swab and  oil-free eye makeup remover to keep your eyes clean. It’s also a great way to remove your eye makeup like eye shadow and eye liner.
  •  No curling your lashes and no mascara (The Bottom lashes are okay)
  • When sleeping: Don’t smoosh your face into your pillow and no eyemasks, unless it’s a specially designed eye mask like the one by 40 Blinks (Contoured for pressure-free, smudge-free eye comfort)
  • When washing your face, never splash water onto your face, instead use a facecloth to wash your face.
  • When showering, avoid facing the shower. They’re waterproof, but not jet-spray-in-your-face-proof.
  • While excersicing, use a headband as it also prevents sweat from dripping into your eyes. Longer lashes catch water and draw them into the eyes.
  • Should your lashes “shift,” use tweezers to adjust them back into place. Best is after a shower and let them dry in “position.”

Other Tips to Make Your Lashes Last Longer:

  • Avoid wearing eye makeup – dirt and grime can disintegrate the glue
  • Avoid using oil based eyeliners and cream eyeshadow,  like Geisha Ink Liquid Eyeliner
  • Coat your lashes daily with Noir Lash Lounge’s Lash Potion #9, their eyelash extension sealant and conditioning treatment protects and nurtures lashes while adding a glossy shine. Apply once a day in the morning -Taryn Cox for THE WIFE™

My friends and I were just talking about lash extensions over lunch yesterday. I really want to try, but think I’ll get addicted and never be able to stop. Perhaps I’ll treat myself for my birthday next month.
